While the main focus of the Adult Education and Literacy Program and NEKLS is the development of essential skills with the goal of achieving a secondary diploma/equivalency, we do offer a variety of other services either on an ongoing basis or as needed.
ACT Testing Center: NEKLS Learning Centers function as testing centers for ACT. Test takers can sign up for any ACT assessments online and pick the most convenient location to take the test.
CDL: We offer CDL classes as needed.
Financial literacy: We have several resources to satisfy the need for financial literacy. They include an online option through CareerReady101 and evening classes offered through a local bank.
Support with transition to employment: If you need support (job search skills, a certain level of academic or “soft” skills, certain job related technical skills) in transitioning to employment, we will support you with an array of resources.
Support with transition to higher education: If your goal is post seconday education, we provide practical advice and preparation for entrance and placement tests.
Middle and high school tutoring: Our tutors are happy to provide support for middle and high school students who struggle or have fallen behind.
Community resource: Our electronic and old fashioned print resources are avaiable to the public during business hours of the centers.
