Community Cafe – Saturday, January 21st, 10am-2pm at The Gateway Center in Newport
The purpose of this event is to get conversations going about aspects of addiction. What needs to change? Addiction doesn’t discriminate, it can affect anyone. Addiction isn’t shameful. What is going on? What can be done? What do we want to know?
Panel Discussion – Monday, January 30th, 6-8pm at NCUHS Auditorium in Newport
The purpose of the panel discussion is to bring together experts from a variety of areas that are dealing with substance misuse or whose area of expertise could be useful in recovery support. Law enforcement, the courts, the treatment clinics, the recovery center, counselors and alternative support services will be represented on the panel.
What is a community cafe? A community cafe is a facilitated group dialogue event designed to rally communities around an issue or topic. In this case the issue is substance abuse and addiction. The purpose of this event is to gather questions for a panel of experts working in addiction, prevention, and enforcement fields on Monday, January 30th, 2017.
